Chad & Misty Chance
Misty and I have been married for over 14 yrs. We both have degrees from Texas Tech University. I have a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Education and Misty has a Bachelor in Psychology. I started shoeing in 1984 while still in High School. In 1987 while attending South Plains College, I realized to pay bills and tuition more horses had to be shod. Jim Jenkins who was my judging coach introduced me to Danny Anderson whom I apprenticed with for many years. While attending SPC and Texas Tech I drove every weekend from Lubbock to Gainesville, TX which is a five hour drive one way and worked with Danny. Holidays and summers were spent trimming mares and shoeing horses. After a couple of years I was well on my way to making a great living. Jim and Danny both are instrumental in where I am today. I will be forever grateful for their help and guidance.
I have had the pleasure to learn from great people, work on great horses and earn great income. When a friend suggested that I video different shoeing techniques and put them on a website my first thought was "I'm to busy and who wants to see me work". But that seed was planted by my friend Rollins Wood and it would not go away. I started researching the resources that were out there and couldn't find anything that fit the profile that I had envisioned for Hoof Watch. I believe all the hard work and the great relationships I have with people in the horse industry have brought me to this place for the success of Hoof Watch. Therefore, I'm passionately committed to the service of bringing you a quality product that will help you progress in your occupation and help the overall wellness of the equine industry.
